With expertise ranging from subsurface investigations and soil testing to wastewater management and roofing structures, CGD supplies end-to-end engineering and design support to builders, contractors, and homeowners across Colorado’s Front Range. We have the capabilities to plan every detail of a residential or commercial subdivision or ensure a single dream home perched amidst the Rocky Mountains is geologically secure for generations.

Veteran owned and operated, CGD proudly contributes our services to Homes for Our Troops a non-profit organization creating specially adapted homes for severely injured military service members.

The Leadership Team

President & Geotechnical Engineering Division Lead

Stuart Smith

Stuart brings to CGD nearly a decade of experience in geotechnical and structural engineering and quality control. He is a Colorado State Certified Special Inspector and holds American Concrete Institute (ACI), US DOT Hazmat, and International Code Council (ICC) building/contractor certifications. An 8-year U.S. Army veteran, Stuart is currently pursuing an engineering degree at Colorado University.

Ken Wu, PE (MSCE)

Senior Engineer
Responsible support for Structural, Civil & Geotechnical engineering design practices in Residential, Light Commercial, Inspection and Field Repair projects.
Ken (graduated from PSU) has extensive (25+ years) expertise in providing quality design, value engineering and safe engineering practices for supporting architects, builders, contractors, business professionals and homeowners. Engineering services include construction documents for wood, steel, concrete, masonry, modular, shoring, soil, civil, inspection and field repair projects in addition to the recent interest in adding the climate-specific and conceptual design support (with optional energy modeling and green design features) to improve the energy-efficiency design in affordable housing projects.
